People and I

I don’t know what the perfect way is. I have been searching for it all my life. I feel no matter how far I wander down the road in a search of the perfect way, there will always be further to go. I have been pushing myself but it seems I will have to now avoid pushing myself too far in an impossible direction. That does not mean I will not move further. Only I will go further in a wise one.

I know there are techniques I need to use in my attempts to get success. I sometimes feel I have a far better technique or resource than the one that I am attempting to use. Why am I unable to tap on my own recourses? I do not know. May be I have to make an extra effort. Perhaps an extra effort spent trying to find it will save me the time and trouble.

At this age and after meeting thousands of people during my journey, it is hard to understand people. I don’t know if it is my inability or truly people are changing attitudes. For me it is hard to understand people. People of real character are becoming scarce. Should I be or shouldn’t be proud of what makes me different, I don’t know. Some people appreciate me for sure but some might hate me too.

To some people I don't seem to be making sense at all. It seems the development of sophisticated thought and its articulation through civilized language has passed them by.

The house does not rest upon the ground, but upon a woman

There is a Mexican proverb "The house does not rest upon the ground, but upon a woman". Why woman and why not man, you may ask. Woman always had and will have a upper hand. It is woman who will have to say "yes" before a "deal is sealed" between the man and a woman. They say woman has a special ability to see beyond man's eyes. It is the woman who chooses a man well later this is the same man who chooses the woman. Woman are weak and woman are strong. Do you go how weak it looks. Tea bags look very pale and white but as soon as dipped into hot water the tea is strong. They are stronger than stones. Their beauty is what makes men crazy. Someone told me "if you stare a beautiful woman for too long - you will turn into a stone". It seems true to me. What do you think?

Night Thoughts

Night thoughts come and stay with me. A lot of random thoughts. Thougths of my childhood, thoughts of some events of various places that I have been to with my parents and family. A lot of thoughts. Some make sense some don't. Sometimes I wait for the thoughts to arrive after I land in my bed. Where are these thoughts stored? How come some thoughts are much more clearer than the others? Some thoughts will make me cry and some will make me smile.

Medieval mindset never leaves us -RD Bhardwaj

New Delhi, India
June 26, 2006

Please refer to the story “Dalit woman sarpanch in MP”.

With reference to the news item Dalit woman sarpanch paraded naked in MP (Hindustan dated the 23rd June), it is really very shocking and disgusting that a Dalit woman sarpanch of Maoikala village of district Chattarpur in Madhya Pradesh, has been beaten-up (along with her two sons) and paraded naked by the gun-wielding local goons, after she refused to give them money from the village panchayat fund.

It is even worse than outraging the modesty of a woman. Almost 58 springs have passed since India reached the horizon of independence, but the rich high caste villagers, who were earlier running the village affairs according to their whims and fancies and inflicting indiscriminate atrocities on the Dalits, are still not able to digest the fact that India has embraced democracy and every developmental work is done according to some rules, policies and procedures, laid down for it.

The medieval mindset of rich landlords has not undergone the desired psychological framework, so as to make them compatible with the changing times.

Secondly, it was totally unfair for those village goondas to demand money as they thought that a Dalit woman sarpanch did not know how to spend the panchayat funds for the development of their village. Since, she is an elected sarpanch; it was well within her power to decide the matter after having consultation with other panches of the village.

The high-handedness of the high caste people (Shuklas and their henchmen) really deserves to be dealt with sternly and they should be better thrown to the place, which they badly deserve i.e. behind the bars. As such incorrigible upper caste people are simply not digesting the erosion of their age-old dominance; they should better shift from the village where only the rule of democratic set-up prevails.

Thirdly, as they are misusing their arms for the victimization and harassment of the poor and the Dalits, license of Shukla’s gun should be cancelled/forfeited and the guns should be taken back and put into police custody. Heavy financial penalty should also be imposed on all the perpetrators of crime so that it serves as a deterrent for further perversion in society.

Incidentally, a woman (Mrs Girija Vyas) heads the National Commission for Women; she should be in a better position to comprehend the damage and insult done to the modesty of another woman in such a scenario. Accordingly, this matter should be taken very seriously and maximum punishment should be awarded to all the people involved in the said crime, who disrobed the woman, particularly, holding a constitutional position.

That shall be the only way of dealing with such perverted minds and doing due justice to the lady unduly victimized.

Death makes us to forget & forgive Life

In life you meet people, look at them from a different point of views in the beginning and later change the way you think about them. Sometimes we take some people as ordinary people but as soon as you get to know them a little closely your views change and you wonder how this can be. Because of our human nature and because God gave us humans a very long life - we meet thousands of people in our lives. Some we never think about again. Some, we wonder what happened to them. There are some that you wonder if they ever think about you. And then there are some you wish you never had to think about again. But you do. I know it’s a very very complex subject. Complex matters and subjects are very difficult to deal with, especially when they are required to be dealt with 100% honesty. No matter how perfect one is it still is difficult. They say that nobody is perfect and then they turn around and tell you that practice makes one perfect. But then these are matters which we can not practice with - can we?

Silence is so beautiful - and then they said it that if one can not understand your silence it will be hard for them to understand your words. Silence sometimes speaks so loudly that we wonder how not we hear it before that time. Remember people do not die for nothing - death and silence are two who work together - just like silence death must be so beautiful too. You lie in the soft brown earth, become ash and flow with the rivers, help grass to grow all over, and listen to silence forever. Death makes you free forever, you will not have no yesterday, no mistakes to worry about, and of course not tomorrow. Death makes us to forget about time, it helps us to forgive life; the last fact is that it helps us to be at peace forever. Isn't that beautiful?

Leave Your Problems to God...

====Letter to a friend who lost job recently and is facing a lot of problems on various fronts of life at this time====

Hi Friend,

I know you must be going through a lot of hard thinking and trying to
solve a lot of things that you might see as problems. I know almost
everybody will come forward to give you advise but what I will do is
to tell you what I do during these kinds of times. To me the best
solutions to problems will not be the result of hard thinking. Let us
use our time better by creating peaceful thoughts, and problems will
cease to affect us. Let us not try to solve everything on our own.
Leave some space for God to come and help us.

The above thought has been very helpful for me and for some people
around, who think lot or keep on thinking constantly on problems,
which they face on day-to-day basis.

I read in Bhagawat-Gita that we face problems, feel tensed or unhappy,
because we forget our connection or relationship with God. If we have
solid faith in God and know that he is always there with us then we
can easily come out from any difficult situation. I feel we need to
understand that we always backed by the Great Divine Force, so having
Faith on God is very important. God has all the solutions. Just engage
yourself with him.

Our thoughts create our destiny. Through our thoughts if we learn to
be with God then we can think positively and peacefully. Peacefulness
reveals the all possibilities naturally without thinking hard. So key
point is connection with God that gives us Peacefulness and Peaceful
mind can come over on any difficult problem easily.

I have already and invite you to come forward and leave all your
problems to God and you will see things will begin to change.

Remain blessed, trust in God, Keep smiling and don't worry...

Regards,
Anil

Sahib - Sahiba - Friends

Met a lady from Pakistan recently and she called me "Anil SAHIB"... I don't think anybody before has called me SAHIB. To me SAHIBA is more prettier to be used than Sahib. My observation....

Assalam O Aleikum SAHIBA,

"Sahiba" is (the female form of Sahib). Sahib came from Arabic
language originally and means.."friend, companion". Later it was used
for "Lord". Now a days in Hindi and Bengali this word means "Sir,
Master or, primarily, Lord". In British India in feudal and colonial
times, Sahib was also a formal style, used on its own or as an
additional title, for native aristocrats, including rulers of some
princely states and/or certain members of their dynasties. In short
Sahib & Sahiba means: a) Friend and companion b) Master c) Lord d) Sir
. Thanks for adding "Sahib" behind Anil. No one ever before did that -
you are the first one. Less are the people in this world who are so
respectful to others. Thank you. I trust you did not mean "Sahib" as
or anything close to like: b) Master c) Lord d) Sir...did you? Friend
and companion is what I meant when I used Sahiba behind your name.

If you have some time, I invite you to visit my blog web at:
